The Viking 70 enjoys a familial resemblance to its siblings the Viking 82 and Viking 76. The aggressively raked stem featuring better than eight feet of freeboard forward is designed to make small work out of those big head seas typically encountered offshore when hunting marlin. Likewise, the freeboard is a subtle indication of the significant headroom beneath the flush foredeck. The sheer line is pure sweetness that tapers aft to three-feet of freeboard in the cockpit for ease of releasing and tagging billfish and tuna.
Curves also highlight and accentuate the 208 square-foot cockpit with its observation mezzanine that provides ample stowage, multiple freezers, an insulated refrigerated drink box in the salon entrance step, plenty of drawers, and engine room access. The lower cockpit provides a sizeable fish box, stowage compartments and a transom fish box/live well.
The tournament proven center console helm on the flybridge delivers acute visibility to each point of the compass. Like many Vikings, the 70 shares a refined running surface with a convex deadrise shape with sharpened waterline sections to showcase stability and sea keeping ability. The convex deadrise adds curvature and form to the hull bottom and the wide beam, which carries well aft. In addition to supplying considerable buoyancy and lift, re-entry at flank speeds will be soft enhancing a comfortable dry ride.
MOONDANCER has chilled water air conditioning, a Delta-T engine room ventilation system, Eskimo Ice Chipper, Octoplex control system and a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer.
Access to the interior of the vessel is through a sliding door. The main salon is elaborately appointed with designer furnishings, window treatments, custom valances and overhead LED lighting. Aft on the port side is an enclosed electrical control panel and a day head. Located on the starboard side there is an L-shaped sofa and a U-shaped sofa with table. At the center of the main salon is located an aft facing sofa. There are multiple cabinets, a TV lift cabinet on the port side.
Forward of the main salon is the galley area comprising of a granite counter, under counter Sub-Zero refrigeration and freezers, multiple drawers and stowage lockers, double sink, Kenyon 4-burner electric stove, Sharp microwave and Kenmore trash compactor. Forward of the galley is a utility room with distribution monitors, electronic switches and controllers.
The master stateroom is located forward of the galley and main salon below on the port side and comprises of a queen-sized bed with storage under, there are ample closets and drawers, custom wallpaper, flat screen TV and sound system. The ensuite master head is equipped with a marine toilet, granite vanity, basin and mirror, towel bar, cabinets and shower with satin nickel shower fixtures and faucet. All custom décor.
One guest stateroom is forward of the master stateroom on the port side and consists of double bunks, closet and flat screen TV. There is a guest head with a marine toilet, granite vanity, hand basin, mirror, towel bar, cabinets and shower, satin shower fixtures and faucet. All custom décor.
